Trek to the Kudremukh Peak amidst the clouds.

Trek to the Kudremukh Peak amidst the clouds.

Diya MM and Nikku

Drizzle, raising clouds after the spell of rains, gives the feast to the lens, Chirping sounds of the birds and stridulating sounds of the cricket or grass whooper, gives the soothing music to the ears, the walk by the trekkers on the dry and wet leaves gives the cushioning effect to the feet, gurgling streams, Waterfalls, leeches on the way sends the female folks frenzy was all an experience by itself says Miss Diya Mantesh Mundasad of Excel Public school, Mysore.

Swetha MM
Come Dasara vacation the youth fraternity to impress others ponder over going to different location overseas, but I chose to explore our own Karnataka State.  Here my mom Swetha MM had already registered my name for this arduous trek to the Kudremukh peak which is about a distance of 20 km in one single day and I was wondering whether I will be able to do it!

But when my mom had booked, I was wondering she would had known better for me and I just boarded the bus with 21 other trekkers from Kanakapura, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Mysore  who were from different age group from 6th std to 58 years of age.

Tiger Solanki
This trek was organized by Tiger Solanki, and ardent adventure enthusiast of Tiger Adventure Foundation who has more than 45 expedition to his credit in Himalayas and I was pretty sure when he is leading the trek it is going to be adventurous only with little scope for anything else.

Mallika
We just hogged our breakfast at a city joint and left to the destination, Mullodi via Balegal in Kalasa town which is about 15km from Kalasa. On the way we had opportunity of seeing the historical temple in Halebidu which was done by the Hoysala Empire. The architecture and the history narrated by the guide there was simply mind boggling says Ms Mallika Ramesh of the Kanakapura.

Minu Verma
After a journey of 5 hours it was time for the lunch and Gavikal club and resort was a perfect ambience for the same were in we dined and played little bit of carom, snooker, billiards and table tennis and the lush green in front of the dining area gave the feast to our eyes says Ms Meenakshi Vijay Verma of Kapleshwar in Uttarakhand and who is settled now in Mysore.

Anagha
As we came down to the Balegal the trekkers got down and boarded for another vehicle to have the best of its experience which was full of bumpy ride and it was as similar to having a ride in tora tora in the Mysore Dasara Exhibition says Miss Anagha Sridhar who is pursuing her under graduate course in Jain College, Bangalore.

Kavitha@Harshitha
We got down from the bumpy ride and checked into a home stay in mullodi which was run by Mr.Raje Gowda whose home is just a furlong away from the Forest check post who managed our who program with utmost care and precision says Mrs. Kavitha Gururaj, a house wife who is venturing into the adventure era after so many years after the marriage.

Santosh
It was Tuesday morning 5am when we woke to the taunting tantrums of tiger who said coffee and woke the whole 21 of us from the sleep to sip the jaggery coffee, it was followed by 6am breakfast and then followed by pack lunch after that the real adventure was to start and when we were introduced to new faces who were our guides called Mr Prakash and Mr Venkatesh who will lead to the destination Kudremukh peak were as Mr Prakash led us from the front amidst his nonstop chatterbox giving an insight into the trek and sometimes motivating us when we go down and giving a helping hand when were supposed to cross the streams by placing the stones so that we can cross the same safely says Santhosh M of Rangson Group.

The trek started amidst the caution order from the forest department to not, to litter the range with the plastics and garbage, but to get back the same and return back to the check post so that they could dispose it off said the watchers of the forest department.

Vijayashree & Pramod
It was little climb initially which gives a jittery moment but after some time as we crossed the stream and climb the path we get to the katte mara. We could see the Katte mara were we sat and meditated for few seconds and by the time everybody could come we were treated to the eyes with the raising clouds behind the scene which is going to be an everlasting memory in my life says Ms Vijayashree pramod who works in BSNL, Mysore.

Punitha

We trekked amidst the drizzle, clouds and some time when we used to see the leech trying to climb on us we used to shout out for help to the organizers to get ourselves absolve from the leech menace says Mrs. Punitha Pradeep of Mysore.

But the path amidst the shola forest was exciting as we could hear the chirping sounds of the birds, and crickets, along with them trekkers movements on the dry leaves also gave different insight to ears says Mr Pramod Of Bangalore.

Shobha

We passed through the Vonti mara (Single tree) but the climb to reach the vonti mara is little tedious, though it was not the first time she was trekking but it was little more than tough says Mrs Shobha Sridhar a Working professional in mysore.

Nagesh
We climbed through different terrain but the valley view with green meadows gave a feast to the eyes and we could see the lens man capturing the movement in the camera and few in their mobile says Mr Nagesh Kumar D who is working as Supt of Excise, Govt of Karnataka.

As the team was moving towards the destination we also encountered the ruins of the lobos home and the church and we could walk the path in different modes depending upon the endurance were people took the difficult path and the horse path too says Mr Sridhar DV of Mysore.

Mamatha DP

After arduous task of walking for more than 5 hours we summitted on the Kudremukh peak at 11.55am and it was one major accomplishment for me as I had not done any trek in my life and it was first of its kind which I had never dreamt that one day I will be doing it says Ms Mamatha DP of Mysore.

On the summit the trekkers relished the motichur ladu along with the sumptuous meal of tamrind rice and curd rice and after seeing the scenic beauty of the place we started descending to the Home stay, but alas the charming beauty of the place was holding us back for some more picture and we shot some videos and pictures to give a perfect movie for the graduation day.

Pranitha
We also visited the ruined site of the church to have a glimpse of the place and the day ended with all the trekkers complaining about the knee jerk pain because of the descend but never the less it was different experience as we had accomplished the task says Pranitha Pradeep of National Public School, Mysore.

Nikku
On 2nd Oct 2019, we were all set to go to the somvati waterfalls but none of the trekkers were ready as they were exhausted but you know tiger Solanki sir who motivated almost few of them and went down the falls and once the people who refused were the most to enjoy, says Ms Nikkita Ballur of Mysore.
